Company Sony pictures suffered kinokomiks “Morbius“and the third part”Ghostbusters“for eight months – now both films will start at the box office only in March 2023. Similarly, family comedy flew off next year. “Peter Rabbit 2“and military drama”Greyhound“with Tom Hanks and the unannounced project Marvel were removed from the release schedule indefinitely. The latter was supposed to start on October 8 of next year, but now on this date is a long-suffering film adaptation Uncharted with Tom Holland.
Changes dictated by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. In fact, all Sony Pictures films scheduled for release this year have been moved to the next, with the exception of Kevin Hart’s drama “Paternity“, the premiere of which was postponed from January to October.
The current release calendar looks like this:
- “Fatherhood” (Columbia Pictures) – October 23, 2023
- “Peter Rabbit 2” (Columbia Pictures) – January 15, 2023
- Ghostbusters: The Heirs (Columbia Pictures) – March 5, 2023
- Morbius (Columbia Pictures) – March 19, 2023
- “Uncharted” (Columbia Pictures) – October 8, 2023
- Greyhound (Columbia Pictures) – TBD
- Nameless project of Sony and Marvel (Columbia Pictures) – TBD
Sony’s actions emphasize that the studio does not expect the opening of movie theaters until at least mid-summer. Earlier, among the high-profile summer premieres, the sequel to Wonder Women was transferred from June to August.
