- The events of the game will unfold in our time, and the main reason for this is the online component. The modern setting will allow Rockstar to not limit itself in ideas for content, as if the developers chose the 80s or 90s;
- The venue will be Vice City. The map won’t be too big at launch, but the plan is to gradually update it, add new areas and make changes. Henderson cited seasonal changes on the Fortnite map as an example;
- The project is still at a very early stage of development;
- Several main characters, one of whom is a woman. The heroine will be the brightest person on the team and will be responsible for technology and hacking.
Henderson believes that the game will only be released roughly in 2024-2025 for several reasons:
- Rockstar pays great attention to the issue of rework and is not going to rush so that the developers do not have to crunch;
- Since development is only for current platforms, Rockstar wants to wait until more new consoles are sold to maximize the game’s circulation;
- Grand Theft Auto V is still making big bucks for the company;
- Rockstar is not going to postpone the game and will only announce a release date after it is 100% sure that it is achievable.
