Midautumn will talk about the struggle of the Asian diaspora against gentrification – Igromania

An independent team of game designers, almost all of whom have received various awards, announced a new project: an action movie with elements of a roguelike Midautumn… The creators took the main themes of the Asian diaspora, the salvation of the city from gentrification and the fight against evil spirits.

The main character, Roibn Lam, graduated from college, but he has no purpose in life. As a result, he settles with his grandmother in a fictional cozy town in California. And she reveals to him a secret: an entrance to the spirit world is hidden in her basement, and Robin is destined to become its keeper.

Midautumn gameplay resembles a mixture Hades and Butterfly Soup… The hero is able to take power away from evil spirits and use it against them. But they will certainly remember this and prepare better next time.

In between battles, Robin will be able to explore the city, get to know its inhabitants, make friends with them and find out what is really going on in this quiet town. It also prevents wealthy citizens from moving to an old Asian town and building luxurious condos, health food stores and trendy bars here.

The release of the game is scheduled for late 2023. But for a start, Midautumn is going to be taken out on Kickstarter… The developers have not yet announced the timing of the start of the campaign.
