Microsoft’s iconic shooter Halo: Combat Evolved will soon get prettier – the first changes can be appreciated now

Cult shooter Halo: Combat Evolved by Bungie was released as the launch title for the first Xbox in the fall of 2001, and was ported to PC by Gearbox Software two years later.

Compared to the console release, the computer port received a number of visual simplifications, which later flowed into a remaster. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary for the Xbox 360, using the PC version as a basis and allowing you to switch from updated graphics to old ones on the go.

Coming to Xbox One Halo: The Master Chief Collection problems have not disappeared, but now 343 Industries undertook to correct them to bring a classic visual Halo: Combat Evolved to its original form.

All program members can already download the corresponding update Halo Insider, and later it will become available to other players… In it, the developers replaced the simplified model of Captain Jacob Keyes with the original one, added the previously absent fog, finalized various energy effects, including on the ships of the Covenant, and also improved the bump map, making the textures deeper and clearer. In addition, shields and protective barriers now redden again when damaged, just like in the game on Xbox Original. You can visually assess the changes in the video below.
