Microsoft has acknowledged another bug in the Windows 10 May 2023 Update that has been fixing for some time. This is a false warning about the lack of an Internet connection. According to users, some of them have experienced this. Moreover, a notification with a yellow triangle appears even if the router and connection are in order.
The most interesting thing is that the browser allows in this case to go to websites, but applications like Spotify, Cortana, Microsoft Store and even Feedback hub cannot access the network. Note that for the first time such messages appeared at the testing stage of Windows 10 May 2023 Update long before the release.
The company promises to fix the issue in a future cumulative update. For now, you can do this:
- Press Win + R and type “regedit” or Win + S and “Registry Editor”
- Open application
- Find the branch HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Services NlaSvc Parameters Internet
- In the EnableActiveProbing parameter change 0 to 1
- Click OK
- Close the registry editor and restart the computer.
After that, the problem should go away.
