MicroProse Studio, once founded by Sid Meyer, recalled making games again

The once legendary studio Microprose announced on her twitter that she was planning to release several new games this year. It is still unknown what projects the revived company is working on, but the developers promise to tell more about them in the coming months.

Most likely, the first or at least one of the earliest games will be Warbirds 2023. About working on it MicroProse and iEntertainment Network stated last year. But then the aircraft simulator of the Second World War was going to be released in October 2019.

The history of MicroProse began in 1982, the studio was founded by Sid Meyer and Bill Styles. Under the MicroProse brand, legendary games were created and released, including Civilization and X-COM. However, over time, the studio lost its independence, and then was completely closed.

For some time, the MicroProse trademark has graced consumer electronics and even airsoft equipment. Only in 2012, the studio returned to the creation of games. And last year, it was bought by David Laghetti, the author of a software platform for modeling open worlds TitanIM.

Laghetti announced that he wants to go back to basics and create strategies and simulations. He even managed to get Bill Styles, one of the founders of MicroProse, to work. Then he started to publish concept art of a future game.
