Website Metacritic continues to take stock of the past year. Following the overall ranking of the highest rated games, the leading review aggregator published the top most rated titles of the year for each particular platform. The list took into account both original titles and ports from other platforms, the average rating of which was based on at least 7 reviews.
Playstation 4
Of all the games released on the Sony console in 2019, only two scored at least 90 points – this Resident evil 2 remake (91/100) and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (90/100). Next on the list are Monster Hunter: World – Iceborne (89/100), Apex legends (89/100) and Devil May Cry 5 (88/100). Among the exclusives, the baseball simulator is the best. MLB The Show 19Rank 13 with a score of 86/100. The top 50 also included Death stranding (82/100) and Blood & truth (80/100).
Xbox one
As with the PlayStation 4, critics recognized the remake of last year’s Xbox One’s highest-rated game. Resident Evil 2. There was only one Microsoft exclusive in the top – Gears 5. According to the average rating, the shooter The Coalition ranks 16th with a score of 84 out of 100 possible.
Nintendo switch
Despite the fact that in 2019 only two titles for the Nintendo Switch scored 90 points or more, hybrid console took the lead in the number of positively rated games (from 75 points) among all platforms. According to the results of the year, such projects were counted in the amount of 193 pieces. The five most highly rated releases formed Divinity: Original Sin II – Definitive Edition (93/100), Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age (91/100), Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition (89/100), Fire Emblem: Three Houses (89/100) and What Remains of Edith Finch (88/100).
PC
For PC users, the past year has been pretty successful. The number of positively rated games increased from 171 to 185, and if in 2018 there was only one project with a rating of 90+ points, then in 2019 there were four. it Red dead redemption ii (93/100), Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers (91/100), Disco elysium (91/100) and Tetris effect (90/100).
