For the second week in a row, the leading position in British retail remains behind Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury. Sales of the Nintendo Switch exclusive are down 61% from their debut week, a good figure for major releases. The extended re-release of the Wii U platformer is comfortably the best-selling new game this year in the UK.
The new project with Mario managed to contain the rather stiff competition from the football simulator FIFA 21, whose sales have grown thanks to recent discount offers. A week before that, the circulation of boxed versions of a sports game grew by 140% at once, and by another 59% in the reporting period.
It also traditionally feels great in the UK. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe… The growth in sales of racing arcade (+ 19%) in the reporting week was due to a shortage of standard flagship models of the Switch console. Those wishing to acquire the system had to buy bundles with a racing arcade offered by retailers, thanks to which the game managed to take off from fifth to third position.
The fourth line was left for Animal Crossing: New Horizons… TOP-5 closed shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War with a drop in sales of 9%.
TOP 10 platformer left Little nightmares 2 and action Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla… They were replaced by a crime fighter Grand theft auto 5 and dance game Just Dance 2023…
No significant multi-platform releases are expected in the next few weeks. The hybrid set-top box Switch will again come to the market. Role-playing game will be released on February 26 Bravely default iiand the action role-playing game debuts on March 26 Monster Hunter: Rise… The first really big releases for the PS5 and Xbox Series won’t hit until May this year. Only then will they shoot a triplet Returnal, Resident Evil: Village and Deathloop…
