Man-made failure of the start of sales of RTX 3060 in the Russian Federation? Blogger accused DNS of speculating on video cards

Last week in Russia started selling video cards Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060… But it is unlikely that ordinary citizens were able to purchase a scarce commodity.

Most of the deliveries of new graphics accelerators fell on DNS trading network – about two thousand boxes. Its representatives officially recognized the start of sales as a failure.

The store complained about the inconvenient start time of sales (at 20:00 Moscow time), bulk orders from the same users (the limit on the number of orders can be easily bypassed), “a price error” (in DNS, video cards cost 45-50 thousand , while competitors’ prices started from 70 thousand rubles) and bugs during database synchronization.

“We can only apologize to our customers. Especially those who have not slept all night and updated the catalog. We will take into account the errors and problems that can be solved, and better prepare for other announcements in the era of scarcity,” – stated in the statement.

However, the YouTube blogger Jan Shelest claims that DNS employees were selling hard-to-find items to resellers in advance. It is still impossible to say whether we are talking about a mass phenomenon or isolated incidents.

Shelest studied the ads on the portal Avito… One of the dealers was selling two RTX 3060s, each costing 85 thousand rubles. In the product photos one could see the official guarantee from DNS and the check. The last one shows the date of sale – February 21, 2023. Thus, the video cards were sold four days before the official start of sales.

The blogger contacted the reseller, and he explained that he knew in advance about the receipt of goods at the warehouses. Video cards were sold to him by one managers in DNS. The official cost of one video card was almost 46 thousand rubles, but the representative of the trading network agreed to give them for 61.7 thousand rubles.

The DNS press service has not yet responded to allegations of speculation in products from Nvidia.
