little-known company offers Mac clones on AMD Ryzen – review

Monopoly is always not too good. Especially when it comes to software and hardware. Company Apple holds it for many years, independently releasing branded PCs and laptops on MacOS. And while enthusiasts are trying to install the “apple” OS on compatible computers, some put it on an industrial footing.

Young company Opencore computer offers Mac clones without permission from Apple, reports Wctctech. Considering how reverently they treat copyrights in the West, this is very bold.

The company advertises assemblies called Velociraptor processor based AMD Ryzen. The following specifications are offered:

  • CPU AMD Ryzen 3700X and higher with the number of cores from 8 to 16
  • Up to 64 GB of RAM
  • NVME SSDs up to 2 TB and HDDs up to 4 TB
  • Graphic arts Radeon VII with 16 GB of video memory.

Prices range from 2199 to 4819 dollars (from 153 thousand to 336 thousand rubles at the rate excluding taxes). However, it is still several times cheaper than the original Mac.

In addition, the appearance of models is expected. T-rex on the Ryzen threadripper third generation with 24, 32 or 64 cores, 256 GB of RAM and 6 TB SSD. It is curious that the company accepts payment only in bitcoins.

We also note that a one-year guarantee is promised, but the lack of a legal address and some other aspects make me doubt the honesty of the company.
