In the preface, the editors noted that the compilation was prepared on the basis of a vote by the authors, which took place under heated debate. Observers also tried to take into account parameters such as the impact of a game on the development of the industry, the presence of innovative elements at the time of release, and the degree of “longevity” (do they even talk about the game months or years after its premiere).
