Konami Announces Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Server Shutdown On PlayStation 3 And Xbox 360

Company Konami reported that May 31, 2023 servers Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Metal gear online on consoles Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 will be disabled. The players were thanked for their many years of support.

  • On August 31, 2023, the in-game store will be disabled.
  • DLC content for Metal Gear Online will be removed from sale on November 30, 2023.
  • The digital distribution of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Metal Gear Online will cease on March 1, 2023.
  • On May 31, 2023, the servers on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will be permanently shut down.

Konami stressed that after May 31st, users of older consoles will be able to continue playing Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain offline. On Playstation 4 and Xbox one technical support for the game will continue at the same time – the servers are not yet planned to be turned off

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain premiered in September 2015. This is the last game that Hideo Kojima directed before leaving Konami.
