Japan’s Nintendo Switch sales continue to fall due to coronavirus, Persona 5 Scramble topped the charts

Family Console Sales Nintendo switch in Japan continue to decline due to the situation around the coronavirus COVID-19, informs the publication Famitsu. Against the backdrop of problems with the supply of new lots from China, some Japanese stores returned to the distribution of Switch through the lottery system.

Following the results of last week, only 41 thousand Switch consoles were sold in Japan, which is the worst result for the last year. The flagship hybrid model accounts for only 10 thousand – this is the historical minimum for the platform in the region.

For comparison, a week earlier stores sold more than 80 thousand devices, and a week before it – 100 thousand.

The first and second lines of the weekly game chart were covered by role-playing action Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers in versions for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, respectively. Starting runs of both versions sold out by about 75-80%.
