Rumors about the next project appeared on the network. FromSoftware, known for the trilogy Dark souls, dark action RPG Bloodborne and samurai hardcore action movie Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice… The source was an anonymous insider.
The project is reported to be codenamed Interstice and is created for platforms Playstation 5, Xbox series x, Xbox series s and PC a team led by the head of the studio Hidetaki Miyazaki… The publisher is allegedly Activisionwho enjoyed working with FromSoftware on Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice…
According to the informant, Interstice – a large-scale sci-fi mecha action game with deep role-playing elements and a third-person view. The project is characterized as something like “spiritual successor to the Armored Core series“.
Clarifies that significant focus in Interstice is done on traveling through the open world on a personal battle mech, but a hub zone with storyline NPCs will also be available for study. The main character is a certain humanoid android, whose appearance can be customized as you wish. At the same time, he has a full-fledged voice acting.
The game will feature the pumping of both the fur itself and the character piloting it. At the same time, the latter will sometimes have to be taken under control separately, for example, in cases when it is necessary to go to any location that is inaccessible for movement on a giant combat vehicle.
The developers have not forgotten about the multiplayer component either.
- Interstice will definitely not be released on consoles of the outgoing generation.
- Created on the most modern version of the FormSoftware engine (an example of “pumping” the studio engine – the difference between the first part of Dark Souls and Bloodborne).
- The game was planned to be released before the end of March 2023, but due to the difficulties of development during the coronavirus pandemic, it was postponed to the first or second quarter of 2023.
- The protagonist obeys an advanced supercomputer. The latter’s role has been compared to that of the Keeper of Fire from Dark Souls III.
- Advanced supercomputers lead factions (there are six of them in total), fighting for the rest of the resources in an attempt to design some kind of powerful machine that allows you to transfer consciousness to a higher dimension. Such a machine already existed, and it was lost in the war thousands of years ago.
- Each supercomputer has a unique ability, and factions are tied to them.
- The hero’s supercomputer (AI Master) sends him to the ruins of cities and to the bases of enemy factions to obtain information about the machine.
- So far, four endings have been prescribed for the game, and they are all tied to the relationship between the hero and the supercomputer.
- There are two types of currencies in Interstice. One is used to level up the character, and the second is used to improve the fur, as well as to buy supplies, weapons and clothing.
- The hub zone mentioned above looks like a destroyed laboratory. It is full of androids that look like a player-created avatar.
- An analogue of the “Underground Bowls” system from Bloodborne will appear. AI will generate “training programs”.
- There are no full-fledged people in the game.
- Some segments can only be traversed with fur, some with android only.
- The key characteristics of a robot are divided into speed, defense, attack and health.
