“Sony abandoned Resistance 4 due to the similarity with The Last of Us – the company did not want the games to repeat each other. As a result, Resistance was simply closed.“.
The company dropped the fourth installment around the end of the PlayStation 3 cycle, long before Insomniac became part of the PlayStation. The Resistance team later noted the failed Fuse for EA – it is possible that some developments of the canceled shooter found their place in this project.
