Last year Sony opened a division Playstation productions, which will be engaged in the production of films and series based on the game franchises of the company. Currently, of the confirmed projects, only the film is known. Uncharted with Tom Holland and series The last of us for channel HBO, however, a new rumor suggests that another studio project will be a full-length adaptation of the adventure The last guardian.
This was reported by a well-known journalist and insider. Daniel Richtman, according to which, Sony has already begun to develop the tape. Produced by Kevin Misher (The Case of Richard Jewell, The Treasure of the Amazon, The King of the Scorpions), and the current version of the script is written Max Borenshane (“Godzilla”, “Godzilla 2: The King of Monsters”, “Kong: Skull Island”).
It is reported that in the center of the plot there will still be an orphan boy who has made friends with the mysterious winged creature Tricot, but the film will introduce two more heroes to Ariana and Uedu – parents looking for their missing daughter Mono. The pair will play a minor role and will follow the main characters throughout the adventure. Now the casting is underway, but when exactly the studio will be ready to start filming, given the ongoing pandemic of the coronavirus, is unknown.
The original The Last Guardian was released exclusively in PlayStation 4 in 2016. The game talked about the adventures of a boy kidnapped from his village and imprisoned in a giant castle. Having woken up in a mysterious place, the hero encounters yet another prisoner – a giant griffin-like creature named Tricot, wounded and chained. Having freed him, the boy enters the support of a faithful partner and tries to find the way home with his help.
