Insider: Nintendo Is Not Going To Allow Microsoft’s xCloud And Other Third-Party Cloud Services On Switch

In recent years Nintendo and Xbox became somewhat closer to each other. Platform holders were the first to implement console crossplay, and on Switch some Xbox Game Studios games began to appear. This was told by an industrial analyst David Gibson, according to which Nintendo told him directly that they were not going to allow third-party streaming services on the Switch

The message followed in response to fast executive director of the research company The NPD Group Mat Piscatella, in which he shared his thoughts on how this step might make sense for both companies, since it would be able to significantly expand the game library of its console, and Microsoft would have access to a multimillion base of new potential subscribers. Gibson considers Nintendo’s failure a missed opportunity

At the same time, Microsoft itself has recently clearly hinted at some kind of cooperation with Nintendo, putting the Switch on the shelves during its broadcasts, and insiders indicate that both companies are preparing some kind of surprise for this fall.
