The director compared the period of development of the genre with westerns and war films, which at one time were very popular, but then the viewer was fed up with them. According to Gunn, something similar will happen with the superhero genre, if the authors do not begin to change the formula.

Gunn added that some authors are trying to make changes to such tapes, so his statement is not 100% accurate, but mostly superhero pictures make him bored.
A director who directed two parts by himself Guardians of the Galaxy and new “Suicide squad”, explained that he liked the pictures about superheroes at the dawn of existence very much. Like when he saw “Superman” in childhood – and even after leaving “Iron Man” the author has not lost interest.
