The best Cybersport players

The best Cybersport players

Cybersport.ru already marked the best players of the year in Dota 2 and CS: GO, and readers have chosen their favorites. But so far we have not talked about everyone. Some e-sportsmen should be noted separately, outside the usual category of “best”. For them, we created nine more nominations marked “the most” to look at the successes of CIS stars from different angles.

Most Popular on Twitch (Most Followers) – s1mple

Leading here Alexander s1mple Kostylev. Despite the fact that Kostylev’s channel on Twitch was banned twice, it still became the largest among esports players from the CIS – more than a million followers. S1mple often streams and actively leads its social networks. Moreover, unlike many in the CIS, he often does this in English, thereby expanding his audience.

You can choose any member of the roster Virtus.pro CS: GO, but we decided to highlight the game coordinator Jame. In 2019, Virtus.pro (ex-AVANGAR) won four LAN tournaments, including Minor, BLAST, DreamHack and WePlay. The highlight of the season for the Kazakh team was StarLadder Berlin Major 2019, where it reached the finals, where it lost to Astralis. The star of that tournament as part of our team was Jame. After Berlin and Moscow BLAST Pro Series Moscow 2019 roster Virtus.pro rose to third place in the ranking of HLTV.org, albeit not for long.

The most unstable (more often than others changed the team) – Lil

At the end of 2018 Ilya Lil Ilyyuk left his own team Odium and decided to try his hand in the European region. Next came a series of mixes with names that are difficult to read and even harder to remember: what is it worth Oi 5ada tou cube. It’s also quite difficult to count all these one-day stacks that disappear after the first failure in open qualifications – at least Lil had more than five different rosters this year. Ilyyuk managed to play with sQreen, SsaSpartan and even EternaLEnVy.

The most modest (least active in the media) – Fn

Rostislav fn Lozova This is not the first year that they have been considered one of the most skill players in the CIS, and fans are waiting every year for his transfer to the top team. However, in 2019, Lozova almost completely disappeared from media radars. His last posts on Twitter, VK and Instagram are dated 2018. Interview Lozova also does not. His name popped up in the media field twice this year – when he played in qualifications with ALOHADANCE and when they started to woo him in Virtus.pro. In the latter case, Fn personally commented on the situation in one of the forums.

The most undisciplined (most locks / bans) – Papich

Vitaly Arthas Tsal (Papich)

Papich was banned for several years, but this time after four consecutive locks, the streamer lost his channel on Twitch and was forced to move to YouTube. As Tsal himself admitted back in 2018, in an interview with Mrs. Marple (this video was also blocked), one of the possible causes of bans is an unintentional heatspitch towards LGBT people. Papich knew that a permanent ban on Twitch was a matter of time, and he turned out to be right. Channel locks on Twitch this year received many famous players and commentators – s1mple, ceh9, PGG, LighTofHeaveN other. The most interesting bans related to games and e-sports, we have collected in this article.

The most successful roster of the year – Team Empire (Rainbow Six Siege)

Rainbow Six Siege is a paradoxical game. According to the statistics of the views, it is obvious that the shooter is not interesting to the Russian-speaking audience, but at the same time, the CIS takes a leading position in this discipline. The success of our region is primarily associated with Team empire. The team for 2019 managed to become vice champion and champion of majors. Team Empire ends the calendar year in first place in the siege.gg world ranking – an analogue of HLTV.org from CS: GO.

The opening of 2019 for a wide audience of Dota 2 was Danil gpK ~ Skutin. He loudly declared himself in closed qualifications for TI9, where he Vega Squadron finished the group stage without a single defeat. After the autumn reshuffle, gpK ~ moved to Gambit, with whom he selected for the first major of the season. Of the many newcomers who have appeared on the professional scene over the past year, it is gpK ~ that most consider as the future top player. Praised young midman Gambit and Roman Kushnarev. Skutin now ranks sixth in the ranking of the best matchmaking cows, ahead of experienced players like Vladimir No[o]ne minenko and Lasse MATUMBAMAN Urpalainen.

The most memorable (most joked about him) – RAMZEs

RAMZEs
RAMZEs

RAMZEs is perhaps the best “doter” in the CIS, but this does not contradict the fact that the community likes to play a trick on the “apostle of our time”. This year, Kushnarev not only appeared on the pages of Esquire, but also starred in the new Head & Shoulders video, caught the most annoying arrow in his career and showed the variability of the use of the word “guys”. You can learn more about these and other memes of the year in previous material.

Most respected – Zeus

BLAST Moscow was the last tournament for the captain and legend NAVI CS: GO Danil Zeus Teslenko. On the one hand, it did not work out on a major note – the team took last place, winning only one match. On the other hand, Zeus adequately assessed his strength and left at the moment when he felt that it was necessary. Similar competent and timely solutions from age-old players are sometimes lacking in eSports. Teslenko handed over the reins to the younger team Boombl4. Zeus did not wait for the moment when universal respect will grow into discontent or pity. His farewell to the fans and the team at BLAST Moscow was the most emotional moment not only of the tournament, but of the whole year in the CIS.
