In World of Warcraft, it is not so easy to change your character if he got out of the meta – pumping and collecting powerful equipment for twins takes a lot of time. In patch 8.3 in World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth, the Druids became leaders in the speed of passing epochal + dungeons. In this mode, the healers should immediately raise a single target from the minimum health value to a maximum, and also heal a group of five people who simultaneously take damage. The Priest of Obedience is weak in both cases. Because of this, many gamers believe that this class is useless, and simply do not take it into a group. But being upset and refusing to go through dungeons is not an option. Playing the priest of Obedience is difficult, but not impossible.

Playing MDI differs from dungeon trips by competitiveness – it is important for players not only to complete the dungeon on time, but to do it faster than opponents. This does not mean that classes that are not popular in e-sports cannot show good performance. In the “keys” below the tenth level, with equipment over 460ilvl (heroic raid level in patch 8.3), difficulties in passing usually do not arise, and the “tag” in the timer is also not a problem. Strengths
- Stable high damage.
The mechanics of the Priest of Obedience are based on healing due to the damage done. Due to the new property of objects in patch 8.3 – spoilage – the priest can sometimes catch up and even overtake some damageers. It is most effective to wear equipment with the “Mind Flay”, “Endless Stars” or any effects that increase the speed, versatility and the chance of a critical hit of the hero.
- In some situations, absorbing damage is more beneficial than healing.
One of the main abilities of the Priest of Obedience is the “Word of Power: Shield” – an energy shield that adds additional health points to the character for a limited time. Unlike the priest of Obedience, other healers cannot heal a character above the maximum using basic skills.
- Buff on 10% health.
Players with the Inscription profession can create scrolls of spells that enhance characters. Craft “Battle scroll of fortitude” gives 7% to the hero’s health, and only the priest can increase hit points as much as possible – by 10%.
- Mass dispel spells.
All priests have a unique class skill, Mass Spell Dispel. With it, you can remove debuffs from five members of the group at the same time. This spell helps priests in the Tomb of the Kings and Golden Vein dungeons, as well as on the new Awakened affix in the battle with the monster Sam’rek the Chaos Summoner – it imposes the Fear effect on all players, and timely dispersion removes the control effect from the group.
Weaknesses
- High cost of error compared to other classes.
The Priest of Obedience has no abilities that can quickly restore the health of the group, so he needs to know for sure at what point the teammates will receive damage. This obliges you to learn all the abilities of monsters in the dungeon, their average damage, speed of use and reload – a huge amount of information. Gamers who play with the priest must also perform all the mechanics and not take unnecessary damage, as this healer is not capable of pulling him out of the world.
- There is no combat resurrection.
Druid differs from other healers in the ability to resurrect group members in battle – another plus in the chubby piggy bank of this class. The priest, like all other healers, needs to concentrate properly to read this spell, that is, to leave the fighting stance. Many people prefer to take the profession “Engineering”, which makes it possible to resurrect in battle, but the speed of applying this technical ability leaves much to be desired.
- Cannot remove poison.
All healers, by default, can only dispel magical negative effects. Druids additionally heal poisons and curses, paladins – poisons and diseases. The priest specializes only in the removal of diseases. By a strange coincidence, in the Battle for Azeroth expansion, most monsters use poisons.
- Low mobility
Priests have only one ability, which gives the character a bonus to speed – “Divine Feather”. She is on the same dash with other useful skills. In addition, the “feather” gives acceleration of only 40%, while other doctors have jerks, 100% speed bonuses and spells that remove effects that limit movement. If the priest is slowed down – he crawls like a snail.
How to play as the priest of Obedience in the “keys”?
The main task is to practice as much as possible in order to check the maximum number of game situations on your own skin. The composition of the group is constantly changing, along with it is changing the set of skills available to the five players. This is another difficulty – you need to not only know all the intricacies of controlling your own hero, but also keep in mind a list of useful teammate spells.
As for spells, you must not regret using Dark Recovery. It requires a little more mana than Word of Power: Shield, but is more effective through healing here and now. If the group is in good health and the shields are already hanging on everyone, focus on the damage. In long fights on all mobs, it is necessary to keep the periodic effect “Purification of Evil” (“Word of Darkness: Pain” without the corresponding talent). Powerful spells with a long recharge do not regret it. A situation in which the “Failure of Darkness” or “Suppression of Pain” is useful to you a little later may not happen if everyone dies. On average, the passage of the dungeon takes about half an hour, that is, you can press the “teeth” up to ten times.
An important detail when passing the epoch + dungeons is to determine in advance the route along which the group will move. For this, experienced players use the modification of Method Dungeon Tools, which is developed by the professional guild Method. The mod’s interface allows you to highlight the monsters that you plan to kill, as well as remind yourself of their abilities.
The main modifications for playing in the “keys” are Deadly Boss Mods and WeakAuras. Other add-ons like custom spell panels are optional. You can play comfortably with the standard interface, especially if you turn off the bulky drawings of griffins using the Gryphons Remover mod. But the most useful is Details! – It shows the damage that each member of the group has done. Without this, you understand, nothing.
World of Warcraft is a demanding game. In addition to the need to pump the necklace “Heart of Azeroth” and the cloak “Ashzhra’kamas, the Veil of Determination”, the priest needs to monitor the balance of the main characteristics – intelligence, speed of casting spells and critical attack rating. Versatility is also a good indicator for this doctor in epoch + dungeons, but mastery is best removed completely from equipment – it is useless.
Many believe that achieving high results without a permanent group is impossible. You can actually play solo or with two or three friends.
