Heading for China: Sony has invested a large sum in one of the largest streaming platforms in the Middle Kingdom – Bilibili

Chinese streaming platform Bilibili announced an agreement with the company Sony Corporation of AmericaAccording to which the parent company PlayStation invests in a service offering access to various online video, anime and mobile games, about 400 million US dollars.

The transaction is expected to be completed tomorrow, after which Sony will receive a nearly 5% stake in Bilibili. Both companies will also explore partnerships. “in the entertainment business in the Chinese market, including anime and mobile games”.

“Given the increase in our domestic animation and mobile gaming power, strategic investment and business collaboration brings our goals even closer by offering our users best-in-class content offers and services.”

“We are ready to join forces on a larger scale to meet the huge and growing entertainment needs in China,” said Bilibili CEO Rui Chen.
