For development S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl Studio Gsc game world ditched the ancient X-Ray in favor of the Unreal Engine. The game was initially started on the fourth iteration of the engine, but somewhere in the process of construction, the project moved to the fifth. What is now S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is being created on UE5, the developers themselves said and showed in confirmation a new screenshot from the game, taken in the window of the newest engine.

Through its subsidiary Deep Silver, the company acted as the European publisher of Shadows of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat, as well as the global publisher of Clear Sky.

The shooter will be released April 28, 2023 on Xbox Series X / S and PC directly in Game Pass. Earlier, the developers showed four physical versions of “Stalker 2”, which will be launched on sale.
