Testing and graphical comparison appeared on the network Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut for Playstation 5…
Resolution and FPS modes:
- PS4 – 1080p @ 30fps;
- PS4 Pro – 1800p @ frames per second or 1080p @ 60 frames per second;
- PS5 – 2160p @ 60fps or 1800p @ 60fps.
Testing details:
- The native PS5 version includes improved post-processing effects (more particles, fog, etc.);
- The rendering of shadows from trees is now more accurate – they used to be larger than they should. Also improved the texturing of some individual assets;
- However, the shadow resolution and rendering distance remain the same. Textures (in the majority), drawing distance of objects and anisotropic filtering also did not change;
- Ray tracing is not used, but reflections and lighting are improved in places;
- Loading screens disappeared. Starting the game and using fast travel takes no more than 2 seconds;
- Cutscenes are now rendered in real time, opening the door to adding full lip sync with Japanese voice acting. All videos run at 30 FPS;
- The resolution in both modes is constant and implemented by the checkerboard method;
- The author of the video recommends playing in a higher resolution mode, since the frame rate in it remains at 60 frames per second most of the time.
Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut is already available for sale along with the add-on Iki island… In addition to the PS5, the re-release was also released on the PS4.
