Gamedev.world will raise money to help victims of the transfer of GDC 2023

Non-profit organization gamedev.world announced the creation of a charity fund Gdc relief. It is intended to help developers who have suffered from the announced conference reschedule. GDC 2023 for summer.
According to the organization, many independent developers must save money for years to attend some important event. GDC organizers have promised to reimburse the cost of tickets to visitors to the exhibition. But no one will refund the money spent on visas, accommodation and travel expenses to the participants.
Those who are forced to count every penny are unlikely to be able to invest again now in the summer conference. Moreover, they will have to limit other expenses during the year, because their hopes for finding a sponsor will not come true.
GDC Relief Foundation will hold a number of charity events from March 27 to April 3. During the week, various reports made by both developers and sponsors will be published online. In addition, organizers supported by Itch.io will release a collection of games by independent creators, which will be distributed on a pay-as-you-go system.
Each GDC Relief Fund dollar received during the campaign will be sent to support developers who are most affected by the transfer of a major gaming event. How they will be selected is not reported.
