Life simulator Animal Crossing: New Horizons managed to maintain a leading position in the UK retail chart. This is reported by the portal GamesIndustry.biz with reference to tracker data Gfk.
The exclusive Nintendo Switch shows enviable resilience despite a 34 percent drop in sales. The game managed to get ahead of the timeless crime fighter Grand theft auto 5 from Rockstar Games, whose position, in turn, did not stagger, despite the free distribution of the PC version in the Epic Games Store – on consoles they continue to buy this hit just as well. Otherwise, the TOP-10 remained virtually unchanged, with the exception of a few trailing positions.
This week, not a single new boxed release appeared on the charts, however, the situation may change towards the end of the month.
Massively Multiplayer RPG Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 closed TOP-20 after a 62% boost in sales, and sales of PS4-exclusive action increased by 32% God of war allowed him to return to the thirty-first position.
In total for the reporting week, British retail managed to sell about 200,000 physical copies (-9%).
