Excuse me: Deadly Premonition 2 apologized to the transgender community and promised to fix the game

Released the other day on Nintendo switch detective adventure Deadly premonition 2 was criticized not only for the technical component, but also for the way the transgender character was presented in it.

He is addressed by his old name, which he wore before the sex change, and is constantly confused by his gender identity. Some representatives of the transgender community were offended by this image of the character – it made them feel awkward.

In this regard, the development manager and scriptwriter Deadly Premonition 2 Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro I personally apologized to the players via Twitter.

“I realized that, as my friends pointed out to me, I could hurt transgender people with my script. It wasn’t on purpose, I’m very sorry that it happened,” the developer wrote in a statement.

The Japanese game designer added that he would rewrite the controversial scene, and also promised that in the future his team would be more responsible in dealing with such issues.

Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise is now available on the Nintendo Switch. Later, the project will be released on other platforms.
