EVE Online players get richer by attacking other strongholds – review

At the end of May on the server EVE Online installed the patch Forsaken fortresswho seriously changed the rules of the game. With his release, the concept of an “abandoned citadel” appeared in the game. And this new reality allows players to become tens of thousands of dollars richer.

In the world of EVE Online, any property – ships, goods, modules and other good – can be secured by sheltering in the fortress. The strongholds are managed and protected by the NPCs, but about 40 thousand of them are built by players. Prior to the Forsaken Fortress, all of these strongholds were untouchable.

Now, if a player does not fulfill the requirements for the maintenance of the citadel, it receives the abandoned status. At the same time, all protective systems lose much in efficiency or are completely turned off. And this makes such fortresses a tasty booty.

As reported Pc gamer, EVE Online players form marauder squads or go on a tour of the fortresses alone. For example, a player named Sulley spent a month destroying and robbing small strongholds.

The destruction of the citadel is a long process, for him Sulley used several accounts with nine Kikimora ships and founded his own corporation. Having declared war on all the owners of the planned strongholds, he began to destroy them: each such process took 35-40 minutes.

After the death, the citadel throws up into space up to 200 cans with trophies, they fly into hundreds of kilometers. Among them, dummies are often found, but sometimes valuable objects come across. And collecting them is fraught with risk, because any pilot can pick up loot. So Sulley soon had to resort to the help of the alliance. And soon his squad smiled fortune.

Sulley came across a stronghold built by Future Tech Industries. Inside, he discovered the largest trophy in EVE Online history: items worth nearly 4 trillion ISK. If you translate this into an understandable number system – about 60 thousand dollars.

The successful destruction of the Future Tech Industries citadel earned him more than three times as much ISK as he managed to accumulate over 12 years of play. But in the world there are about 20 thousand abandoned strongholds, so that can still be ahead.
