Disney following a line of works with cute princesses, she was actively engaged in the formation of projects about the formation of famous villains. First part “Maleficents”Turned out to be an interesting experiment that slipped into dull platitudes in a boring sequel. Fresh “Cruella”Again plays on the field of an antihero with a difficult fate, but unlike the story about magic and princes, she does it much more skillfully.
In the center of the plot is Estella de Ville, who was born a genius child. The tragic loss of her mother and a lonely fate on the streets of London in the 60s lead her to a teenage gang of thieves. A few years later, the girl decides to move from petty robberies to realizing her dream of becoming a great fashion designer, joining the arrogant Baroness von Hellmann. A story very reminiscent of a bestseller “The Devil Wears Prada”, Quickly turns into a bright benefit performance Emma Stone with a fresh Joker flavor. Estella gradually turns from a sweet and naive girl into a cruel and cold Cruella, who will do anything to fulfill her dream of domination in the fashion world.
In addition to Emma Stone, the film excels Emma Thompson in the role of the baroness and a pair of adorable dogs. The Dalmatians who wounded Estella in the very heart also appear in the frame, but exclusively as computer graphics.
Any fresh picture of “Disney” is not complete without an SJW agenda, and this one was no exception. For example, in the third roles there is a non-binary fashion designer and owner of a fashion boutique, similar to David Bowie of the Ziggy Stardust period. However, his presence in the frame does not cause feelings of absurdity or rejection, and he is quite competently woven into the plot.
In addition to the almost brilliant performance of Emma Stone, “Cruella” stands out for its excellent dynamics, excellent editing work and a soundtrack that has absorbed different directions, from punk rock to Queen classics. Two and a half hours of timekeeping looks with great interest, and this is already a sufficient achievement by modern standards of fast videos.
Almost 200 million spent on the painting went clearly not on crooked computer graphics, but on numerous and often fantastic outfits of the main character, who could become Vivienne Westwood’s alter ego. Cruella’s individual public appearances and sharp confrontations between the two designers are some of the most powerful parts of the picture.
Cruella is a great story done to a high score with good writing, strong musical background, and strong acting by the Stone and Thompson duo, which lacks a little more mid-point poignancy and a far more interesting and less predictable ending. The rest is a movie worth visiting one of the cinemas that opened after the break.
