At today’s meeting with investors following the results of the third quarter of fiscal year 2023, the financial director of the publishing house Electronic Arts Blake Jorgensen commented on the upcoming next-generation consoles Xbox Series X and Playstation 5. He said that the capabilities of the new platforms will amaze everyone..
The company did not go into details, but from all that has been said, it can be concluded that EA was impressed with the power of non-Xtgen consoles:
“The new consoles are much more productive than the existing ones and open up much more opportunities for us. What we can do with them will blow people’s brains.”
Jorgensen added that switching to nextgen would also open the door to new innovations for industry. Games will continue to evolve and new genres will emerge.
EA itself is already working on next-generation games for the PS5 and Xbox Series X, the first of which will be released in the next fiscal year (from April 2023 to March 2023).
