Studio Digital extremes broke off collaboration with a blogger Dogmandanwho for many years acted as a popularizer of the game Warframe. The reason should not surprise anyone: the gamer criticized the movement’s supporters #BlackLivesMatter.
DogManDan founded the gaming community Night Owls Gaming Community, and also acted as an official partner of the flagship project Digital Extremes. However, the developers accused him of violating the studio’s policy regarding abusive materials.
The reason was the publication in social networks. The blogger opposed the arbitrariness of the police, but criticized the actions of looters and robbers. It is also interesting that other members of the Warframe community, including studio staff, were involved in the discussion with criticism of #BlackLivesMatter, but they punished only one blogger.
According to DogManDan, he has been the victim of discrimination by Digital Extremes. The fact is that the text on the Warframe policy clearly states that the studio is not responsible for the content or behavior of its partners, which are independent people or organizations. At the same time, the postulate on the equality of program participants was violated.
No updated rules were provided to the blogger for approval, but recently Digital Extremes donated $ 25,000 to BLM. Now, Warframe developers are basically trying to erase all references to DogManDan.
So, his personal emblem was deleted from the game files (but the image remained if gamers managed to place it in their spaceships). The blogger himself has now focused on covering other games, including Destiny 2.
