After the publication of the quarterly report Electronic arts it became known that Dice major changes await. According to preliminary data, the publisher has changed the leadership of the Stockholm studio.
The reasons that prompted EA to initiate the restructuring are not discussed. But we can assume that we are talking about the accumulated problems that are dragging down the series Battlefield. In particular, the studio was unable to establish effective support. Battlefield v, and her engine Frostbite, imposed on other divisions of Electronic Arts, created many inconveniences in the development of projects.
The situation also needs to be considered in conjunction with the fact that the studio DICE LA, which for years was engaged in post-release support for all projects of the Stockholm office of DICE, and also literally saved Battlefield 4, is now developing a new game that will not be associated with Battlefield. The American team was headed by a head about a year ago Respawn Vince zampella, and its name will be changed.
In addition, the producer of the multiplayer Battlefield V David sirland announced his retirement from DICE after 11 years of work. According to preliminary data, he filed for dismissal a few months ago, but officially this was announced only this week.
The next part of Battlefield is due out in 2023-2022.
