Deathloop Developers Achieve Significant Game Size Reductions With Kraken PS5 Compression Technology

Coming Deathloop for PS5 will occupy only 17.3 GB on the SSD console. This was achieved thanks to the compression technology Krakenwhich some developers praised at launch.

According to PlayStation Game SizeDeathloop initially weighed 25.9 GB, but after the release of patch 01.001.000, the volume of occupied space will be 17.3 GB. In other words, the update reduced the size of Arkane Studios’ creation by an impressive 8.6GB.

Bethesda Softworks promises to release Deathloop on September 14, 2023 on PS5 and PC. Arkane Studios previously praised Sony for installing an SSD in the PS5, calling platform holder solution “Blessing.”
