“We have neither a mobile nor shareware game” – Bethesda completely refused microtransactions in DOOM Eternal

Company Bethesda decided to completely abandon the microtransaction system in the upcoming shooter Doom eternal, as a result, even cosmetic items are not planned to be sold to players for real money. This was announced by the creative director of the project Hugo Martin.

“DOOM Eternal is a full-fledged game for $ 60. This is not a mobile game or shareware game. By paying for it once, you will receive all the content,” he wrote on Facebook.

Martin confirmed that for completing various tasks and increasing experience points, players will be able to unlock various cosmetic items. However, experience accelerators are not expected for extra money – in the new shooter there is no virtual store familiar to many modern titles.

“You can use the experience to unlock skins, if you want, or even ignore this aspect. All of these [дополнительные] the elements are completely free, “the developer emphasized.

The release of DOOM Eternal will take place on March 20th on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and Google Stadia cloud platform. Later, the game will also visit the Nintendo Switch.
