Last August Crytek released a technical trailer for a new version of the engine CryEngine 5.6. The video attracted attention by showing the capabilities of technology on the example of a recreated location from the first part Crysis, and today screenshots of that demonstration appeared on the net.
Images were posted by lighting artist Crytek Lars Hofrichter on personal page Artstation. According to the description, the screenshots demonstrate the capabilities of the modern version of the CryEngine engine, including improved work with light. At the same time, the images were not subjected to any additional processing. Everything you see on them is rendered and recorded in real time..
It is not known whether Crytek is working on returning Crysis, but the screenshots presented give a fairly good idea of what the graphics might be in the continuation or remake of the game for non-x-ray consoles.
