China continues to invest billions in industry: Tencent takes over parent company of Warframe creators

Shareholders of the Chinese holding Leyou Technologies approved the takeover of the company by Tencent – another giant from the Middle Kingdom. The deal was worth approximately $ 1.3 billionLeyou will no longer be a public company from December 23rd – on that day, the company’s shares will be withdrawn from the circulation of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Leyou owned by the studio Digital extremes (creators of the shareware action game Warframe) and Splash damageand Athlon Games Publishing. The latter is currently working with Amazon Game Studios on an MMO based on The Lord of the Rings.

Rumored among potential buyers Leyou also listed Sonybut Tencent managed to get involved in the race in July and reach an exclusive agreement in time, thanks to which, for several months, negotiations were going on only with her.
