VR grows not only thanks to Half-Life: Alyx: Superhot VR developers boast impressive sales of their game

Independent Polish Team Superhot team reported that sales of the VR-version of the shooter with time dilation Superhot on all available platforms exceeded the mark of 2 million copies.

After the release in 2016 Superhot vr was available only for the Oculus Rift headset, but in subsequent years, the developers provided support for additional platforms for it, the most recent of which was Oculus quest.

Earlier was reportedthat as of April last year the VR version Superhot has been sold in approximately 800,000 copies. Thus, in another year, the creators managed to add more than a million copies to this result.

The project reached platinum (one million sales) for two and a half years, but it took the second platinum twice as fast.

“After we were able to sell more than 2 million copies of Superhot VR, we came to the realization that virtual reality is really livelier than all living things in spite of the popular monthly publications,” said the director of special projects in Superhot Team Callum Underwood.

It should be noted that accessibility contributed to this success. Superhot vr on most existing VR headsets on the market, from Oculus Quest and Rift to Valve Index, HTC Vive and PlayStation VR.

Given that the exact sales figures for virtual reality games are rarely published, it’s hard to say at the moment how close the other high-profile VR projects are to this iconic mark. Till it is reliably known that in March of this year the beat-beat Beer Saber game reached a two-million circulation.
