In future version Halo: Combat Evolved within Halo: The Master Chief Collection players will be able to choose the sound design in multiplayer. You can switch between the original version of the audio, which was still in the game for the Xbox, and the new one. Previously, this was only possible for a single player game on the Xbox.
At the moment, this feature is already present in the February beta for participants in the early access program, but will later appear in the release, although there is still no date for it.
IN 343 Studios stated that many players prefer the classic sound design of the game. Preserving the original sound should allegedly make Halo: CE one step closer to what it was on the Xbox.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection appeared on PC in December with the release of Halo: reach. But before the release of all the games in the series, a lot of time will pass.
