CD Projekt still hasn’t received Sony approval to return Cyberpunk 2077 to PS Store

Released in December after three transfers Cyberpunk 2077 faced many technical problems at the start, primarily on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as a result of which the game was discontinued in PlayStation Store just a week after release.

Although CD Projekt RED has already released several major patches that have fixed some of the problems, but after more than five months, the project has not returned to the PS Store

At the May 25th meeting of shareholders, CD Projekt executives were asked to provide an update on the negotiations with Sony on the matter and when these conversations might end. This topic was not on the agenda of the meeting, but the President and CEO Adam Kichinsky decided to comment on the question.

“Unfortunately, I have no new information on this matter. We are still negotiating. With each patch, the game is getting better, there is visible progress, but, as we said, this was an exclusive decision by Sony, so we have to wait when they will decide to return the game. Until now, I have no way to say anything more. “

Earlier in March, answering exactly the same question, CD Projekt’s senior vice president of business development Michal Novakovskiy stated that the absence of Cyberpunk 2077 on Sony’s digital storefronts could negatively affect sales of the game for other platforms. The company did not provide an updated sales forecast, but noted that the results will be strongly influenced by two main factors: the release of the game for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S in the second half of the year and its return to the PlayStation Store.

Despite the removal of Cyberpunk 2077 from the PS Store, the company remains on friendly terms with Sony.
