A few days ago Naughty dog published a vacancy for the graphic programmer The Last of Us: Part II, but most of all the description, where the required work experience is reported, is most surprising.
Among other things, the studio is looking for a specialist who is familiar with current graphic architectures (AMD GCN and NVIDIA CUDA), worked with modern graphics APIs like DirectX 12 and Vulkan, and also programmed for consoles or RS.
The mention of NVIDIA, DirectX 12, and PC as such is surprising, since modern Sony consoles are entirely based on AMD technology.
It is not yet clear why Naughty Dog needs a specialist with such experience, however, given the leak about the exit Horizon Zero Dawn and Dreams on PC, there are fewer questions. Is Sony considering launching a possibly major PS4 exclusive in history on another platform?
However, it is possible that Naughty Dog will release the multiplayer The Last of Us: Part II on the PC, which eventually became a separate game.
The Last of Us: Part II is getting ready for release on May 29 – so far exclusively for the PS4. The presentation of the PlayStation 5, where announcements of PC versions of Sony games may take place, is expected in February.
