Bayonetta reissue for Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro not working in full 4K

Company Sega stated that remaster Bayonetta will work on Xbox one x and Playstation 4 pro in 4K, but in reality it turned out to be nothing more than a marketing ploy. In fact, as testing has shown, the game runs on improved consoles in a resolution lower than stated. The numbers are as follows:

  • Xbox One X – 2560 x 1440 pixels;
  • PlayStation 4 Pro when displaying 4K – 2560 x 1440 pixels;
  • PlayStation 4 Pro – when displayed on a 1080p screen with forced disabling of supersampling – 1920 x 1080 pixels;
  • Xbox One and PlayStation 4 – 1920×1080 pixels;

At the same time, in terms of performance, all versions really provide stable 60 FPS. The most worthy result in terms of performance was naturally shown by the Xbox One X, where frame rate drawdowns were not noticed at all, however, in some scenes, such as at 1:34, a black level drop is observed. There are no serious claims to the technical component to the other versions either, although sometimes short-term fluctuations up to 50-55 FPS still take place.

The Bayonetta reissue came out yesterday on the PS4 and Xbox One as part of an anniversary compilation with another PlatinumGames game – Vanquish. Read our review on both remasters here..
