According to rumors, Intel is preparing desktop processors with the layout of big.LITTLE – review

In modern smartphones and tablets, processors with the big.LITTLE layout have long been used. It allows you to use low-power cores for simple tasks, connecting more productive only if necessary. This reduces the load on the battery and partially solves the problem of overheating.

However, in computers and laptops this scheme is not applied. But in the future it may appear. According to the resource Videocardz, Intel may implement similar in future chips Alder lake s.

The leak slide clearly points to two groups of cores – BIG and SMALL. In addition, there is mention of the new LGA 1700 socket. Thus, the future Comet Lake S processors and, probably, Rocket Lake S, will be the only ones that will receive LGA 1200 support.

The source reports support for PCI-Express 4.0, but there is no information about DDR5 yet, although it is possible that there will be a new generation of RAM. It is assumed that in these series of processors will use a 10-nanometer process technology.

Data on the release dates of such processors, as well as their exact characteristics, are not yet available.
