Studio Industrial light & magic presented a video about creating special effects for the second season “The Mandalorian”…
All five divisions of ILM, as well as a number of other companies under the supervision of the former, worked on creating the effects. Eight episodes of the season accounted for about 5,000 frames with various effects, not counting the additional standard ILM work in real time.
In the process, the team applied “every trick in the book,” including the use of miniatures, old and new animatronics, traditional special effects, and the latest CGI technology.
The third season is expected to premiere in 2023.
