A new look at the upcoming horror: Resident Evil Village first shown with AMD ray tracing

AMD in the course of today’s presentation of the Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card has officially confirmed its cooperation with Capcom over release Resident Evil: Village, in which the expected horror will receive support for ray tracing and toolkit on the PC AMD FidelityFX

In a short video, the manufacturer clearly showed using the example of the interior of the castle, the difference between the environment with enabled and disabled ray tracing.

AMD FidelityFX is a suite of gaming tools optimized for RDNA and RDNA 2 architectures that makes it easy to implement image enhancement solutions such as variable shading, ambient occlusion, screen space reflections, adaptive detail enhancement, and more, but more. it is unknown which of these will be used in Resident Evil: Village.

The game will also support ray tracing on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles, however, Capcom’s partnership with AMD means the PC version will likely be left without NVIDIA-exclusive features like DLSS.

The horror release will take place 7th May
