In reviews Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise only the lazy did not mention the deplorable technical condition of the novelty, which has become almost a hallmark of the entire series. But how bad is it?
A video was released on the VG Tech channel demonstrating the performance of the psychological thriller. As it turned out, there are really a lot of problems:
- frame rate can drop up to 5 FPS
- no lock at 30 FPS
- in rare places, the game can squeeze up to 45 FPS
- an average of 22 frames per second
- on the streets of the city with a long game, FPS can stably stay at a value of 10-15 frames, periodically still “freezing”.
In general, the situation is as follows: in different locations and conditions, the game can work both at 35-45 frames (closed rooms like warehouses), and at 7-15 frames (city streets after a long game).
The developers seem to be planning to work on improving the frame rate, however, knowing the legacy of the first part, one can hardly expect radical improvements. Most likely, performance will be slightly better on other platforms, if the game is ported to them.
Speaking of resolution, it is fixed. In the docking station, the game is rendered at 1440×810, and in portable mode – at 1024×576.
Deadly Premonition 2 was released today – you can buy it for 3749 rubles at eShop. Beginners of the franchise can begin acquaintance with the first part, which until July 26 can be bought for 1124 rubles.
