LG Electronics is developing a smartphone with a screen that collapses. At the moment, a prototype device has already been created as part of the initiative B project. According to a Korean news site The elec, the novelty uses a screen developed by a Chinese company Boe.
Note that last year a prototype of such a display was shown to the world. It was a 12.3-inch OLED screen that could be minimized and expanded if necessary. Note that such a screen is considered more reliable folding due to the lower load on the structure.
The finished smartphone is planned to be shown in the first half of 2023. Its specifications have not yet been announced, however, the patent for a similar device LG registered in 2018. It is assumed that at first about two thousand devices will be produced, after which a decision will be made on mass production.
