Japanese company Capcom reported on the transfer of its employees to a remote mode of operation in connection with the spread of coronavirus. The corresponding announcement appeared this morning on the publisher’s official website.
“The safety of employees, their families, our business partners and the public is a matter of primary importance. We will closely monitor and follow the plans and recommendations of state and local authorities in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19,” the statement said.
After the outbreak of coronavirus in China, many Japanese studios and enterprises continued to operate normally in the field, but after the government announced the state of emergency in seven prefectures, they began to make adjustments to their activities.
According to current plans, the state of emergency will last in Japan until May 6.
In early April, one of Capcom’s employees contracted the coronavirus. There are also infected in Sony Interactive Entertainment and Kojima productions. These companies are already working remotely.
