US PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sales fall faster than expected

PS4 and Xbox One sales in the US are dropping faster than previously expected. About this with reference to new report NPD Group Research Company Tweeted by Famous Insider and Analyst Daniel Ahmad.

Compared with the same period in 2019, at the beginning of 2023, the cost of buying game consoles decreased by 35%. Similarly, a 26% drop in performance was observed in the case of total costs for all platformers ironsoftware and accessories.

“An interesting conclusion from the US NPD report is that PS4 and XB1 sales in January 2023 are significantly lower than PS3 and 360 in January 2013,” wrote Daniel Ahmad, an analyst with Niko Partners.

“The next-generation consoles are just around the corner, but the pace of current sales decline is sharper than previously expected. The hybrid console continues to show steady performance.”

The expert explains this decrease by a combination of several factors, including the fact that both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One systems “for several years kept the current price level”. In addition, Ahmad singled out “the impact of early PS5 / XSX announcements that will get backward compatibility”.

In addition to everything, sales could be influenced to some extent by the talk that soon we will be able to play console games on different devices, as well as a large number of transfers of high-profile AAA projects, including Cyberpunk 2077 and The last of us 2.
