Asian Market Analyst Daniel Ahmad toldthat japanese retail store Yamada Denki launched a lottery with a chance to purchase one of 1300 Nintendo Switch consoles and 900 copies of Ring Fit Adventure.
However, demand turned out to be significantly higher than supply – the total number of people wishing to try their luck in acquiring exceeded 200 thousand (!) People.
The server of the store could not withstand the load and the store had to finish accepting applications in advance.
Where does such demand come from? It’s simple: the Nintendo Switch is already incredibly popular in Japan, and with the onset of a global pandemic, the console began to be snapped up even more actively. However, due to the closure of production, the company is unable to supply a sufficient number of systems to the market.
Moreover, in Japan, a shortage of systems has already begun, on which resellers and other stores are trying to cash in, raising prices for consoles. At the same time, in the USA and Europe, it’s still realistic to get Switch. How long?
