Microsoft continues to work on improvements to its cloud gaming service Project xCloud, and, if you believe the new rumor, then with its help in the future, gamers will be able to stream their PC games to different devices in the spirit of an already working GeForce Now.
According to a famous insider Brad Sams, Microsoft currently working on the implementation of this functionality, but at the moment there are very few details. Nevertheless, according to him, the technology giant will soon organize a presentation, where he will talk more about this opportunity.
If you take GeForce Nowthen Nvidia is currently dealing with some issues with publishers. The platform has already been missing all games from Bethesda (except Wolfenstein Youngblood) and Activision Blizzard. In order not to step on the same rake in the future, Microsoft is likely to make publishers a more attractive offer, allowing gamers to stream previously purchased games on a PC using their own cloud-based gaming service xCloud.
In addition to being able to stream previously purchased PC games, xCloud will allow gamers to stream Xbox games to different devices. Microsoft has not yet provided details and pricing, but it is expected that console titles can be either bought in its own store (or subscribed) or streamed previously purchased directly from its Xbox.
As a result, xCloud will be oriented both to those who use consoles and gaming PCs, as well as to those who do not have specialized gaming hardware, but want to play modern games.
As part of the beta, gamers using cloud technology can now enjoy Xbox games (including Tekken 7, Devil May Cry 5 and Gears 5) on mobile phones and tablets. More recently, the cloud service game database replenished Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Destiny 2, Sid Meier’s Civilization VI and several other projects.
It is planned to fully launch the service before the end of 2023.
