The other day studio Paradox development released patch 1.29.4 to its historical strategy Europa Universalis 4. And he did not bring any visible changes to the game, except for the version number. The situation was soon clarified by representatives of the publisher Paradox Interactive.
According to them, this experimental patch adds new opportunities to acquire add-ons to the game. Namely – a paid subscription. A limited number of players have already received an offer to switch to a subscription model, gaining access to all released and future additions.
The studio noted that the introduction of a subscription does not cancel the usual model for the release and distribution of add-ons. There will also be no exclusive extensions for subscribers, as well as requiring exclusively purchases. The cost of the subscription has not yet been finally determined.
Europa Universalis 4 was released in 2013, since then it has released fifteen major additions and dozens of different content sets. It was repeatedly noted that because of this, it is extremely difficult for new players to start playing – the cost of add-ons is several times higher than the base price of the game.
The strategy itself and its additions participate in the current sale in Steam. You can buy a game for 174 rubles. Full edition Europa Universalis IV: Empire Bundle will cost 5148 rubles.
